Passing on from CCISD’s Council of PTA’s. Since the Bond passed,
the construction of High School #5 at Hwy 96 and 146 will begin
immediately and should be open in Fall of ’09. (Watch for school
boundary changes in Fall of ‘08.) Clear Springs will have a third
gym build right away. New buses will be ordered. Upgrades to campuses
for the addition of the state mandated science curriculum will
start. There are two new elementary schools that will start. One
at Hwy 3 and Hwy 96 and a second at Hwy 96 and Hwy 146.
After next year a junior high will be built out at Hwy 96 and
Hwy 146 and the two ninth grade centers at Creek and Lake will
be turned back to junior highs.
With the addition of Ann Hammond to the school board, we will
have four women serving on the Board. Anyone who has an interest
in serving as a volunteer on the Finance Committee for the District
should contact Paul McClarty at CCISD. Community input is high
encouraged.
