Area utilities have certain requirements for establishing service,
including address of former provider, employment information,
driver's license number, Social Security number and phone numbers.
Deregulation of Texas Utility Companies has allowed the consumer
to receive more competitive rates .
Electricity:
To select service with a company of your choice in the former
HL&P

Service in Galveston County has changed from Texas New Mexico
to First Choice. However, a choice of companies can be obtained
by calling;
Gas:
Reliant Energy Entex supplies Gas to the area. To apply for service,

City Water Authority provides water and sewer services for

municipalities provide water/sewer services by calling the individual
city.
